Summary: The Swiss Arbitration Association and the Swiss Arbitration Centre, will join forces under the umbrella of the "Swiss Arbitration" platform, to offer two days of hybrid conferences on 2-3 February, 2023 at the Marriott Hotel Zurich or online. A Gala Dinner will be held in between the two events on the evening of 2 February, 2022.

Irma Ambauen is a Senior Associate at Kaufmann Rüedi Attorneys at Law, Lucerne and Co-founder and co-chair of the ASA Local Group Central Switzerland. She advises clients in the field of national and international dispute resolution in German and English. She has acted as counsel, tribunal secretary and arbitrator in a wide range of disputes involving IT/ICT, construction, licenses, and M&A transactions under different sets of rules (such as Swiss Rules, ICC Rules, VIAC and WIPO Rules) and in ad hoc proceedings.
Irma is also a member of Lucerne’s bar exam committee focusing on civil procedural law as well as debt collection and bankruptcy law.

Juliette Asso (formerly Richard) joined LALIVE in 2013. She specialises in international arbitration, including both commercial and investment treaty arbitration, with a focus on complex disputes involving major construction projects in the energy, transportation and telecom sectors. She has particular experience advising clients on quantum-related aspects of disputes. She is also specialised in Web 3.0 disputes, including metaverse and NFT related legal issues.

She has acted as counsel in numerous arbitration proceedings under various procedural rules (including ICC, Swiss Rules, LCIA, SCC, WIPO and ICSID), governed by various procedural and substantive laws (including French, Swiss, Swedish, Ethiopian, Algerian, Qatari, Iraqi and international law). She also regularly acts as tribunal secretary.

Alma Forgó has been focusing on international arbitration and alternative modes of dispute resolution for over a decade. A German national of Hungarian and German descent, she has been admitted to the German bar since 2010. Currently Head of Arbitration at Airbus, she manages, since January 2017, a great number of arbitrations and related litigation arising in the commercial aircraft, helicopters and defense and space industry in a multitude of jurisdictions. Before joining Airbus’ legal & compliance department, Alma held the role of Deputy Counsel at the ICC International Court of Arbitration where she oversaw more than 500 international arbitrations involving parties mostly from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Baltic countries. Alma previously trained in the international arbitration departments of WilmerHale in London and of Freshfields in Frankfurt and Paris. She holds law degrees from Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris and Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich and is an accredited commercial mediator (ADR Group (UK)). Thomas Granier is Counsel at Asafo & Co in Paris, France. He has a decade of experience in representing companies and State-entities in international arbitrations under all of the major arbitration rules. He also regularly advises parties in setting aside and enforcement proceedings before French and African courts. He has developed a specific expertise in regulated industry sectors, including in particular renewable energies, oil & gas, power, nuclear, infrastructure, mining and life sciences. He has extensive experience in compliance and ESG matters, in respect of which he regularly advises private companies.

Lukas Innerebner is a Legal Counsel at the Swiss Arbitration Centre. He has administered more than 100 international and domestic arbitrations and mediations in English, German and Italian.
Prior to joining the Centre, Lukas gathered experience at Legance in Rome and at Baker McKenzie in Zurich as well as at a Swiss district court. He is a member of the Zurich bar and holds an LL.M. in international dispute settlement (MIDS) and a master's degree from the University of Trento (Italy).

Patrick Thieffry is an independent arbitrator and consultant, mainly in construction and infrastructure, environmental and energy-related matters. A member of the Paris and New York Bars, he practiced international business law for four decades, and has a wide experience of international transactions and transnational disputes. He has been acting as Counsel, Sole Arbitrator and President of Arbitral Tribunals since the 1980’s in the EU and the US.
He served as Co-chair of the ICC Task Force on Arbitration of Climate Change-related Disputes and as Head of the ICC Working Group on the Global Pact for the Environment. Patrick Thieffry has been teaching environmental law since 1996 at the Sorbonne School of Law where he served as Associate Professor between 2008 and 2019 and in several other universities, including Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas where he also lectures on arbitration of environment and climate disputes. He authored a Handbook of European Environmental and Climate Law (Bruylant, 2nd ed. 2021, 489 pages), a Traité de droit européen de l’environnement et du climat (Bruylant, 4th ed. 2020, 1723 pages), a Manuel de droit européen de l’environnement et du climat (Bruylant, 3d ed., 2021, 498 pages) as well as other law books and many articles on international arbitration, business law, environmental and climate law. Jacomijn Van Haersolte-van Hof

Director General of LCIA

Jackie van Haersolte-van Hof has been the Director General of the LCIA since 1 July 2014. She regularly sits as arbitrator and has handled cases under the ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL Rules, as well as those of the Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) and UNUM. She is on the ICSID roster of arbitrators and was and is a member of several ICSID Annulment Committees, including as President. She is a professor of civil law, in particular arbitration law, at Leiden University and a member of GAR’s editorial board.
Previously, she practised as counsel and arbitrator in The Hague at her GAR 100 boutique HaersolteHof which she set up in 2008 after three years as counsel in the international arbitration group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Amsterdam. Before that she was at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and Loeff Claeys Verbeke.

Tobias Zuberbühler is a partner in the arbitration & litigation team of Lustenberger Rechtsanwälte with 20 years of experience in dispute resolution. He has acted as arbitrator and counsel in more than 70 international and domestic arbitration proceedings under both ad hoc and institutional rules (ICC, Swiss Rules, DIS, VIAC, CEPANI). His industry experience is mainly in the areas of construction, finance, IT, commodity trading, pharmaceuticals, international sales, joint ventures, agency/distribution and intellectual property. Tobias is a WIPO Domain Name Panelist and has rendered over 250 UDRP decisions.

Tobias is the initiator and co-editor of the Commentary on the Swiss Rules of International Arbitration (2nd ed. 2013) and co-author of a commentary on the IBA Rules of Evidence. He is a regular speaker at international conferences in the field of arbitration.

Tobias is Past President of the Arbitration Commission of AIJA and co-founder of the Marketing Committee of ASA (Swiss Arbitration Association).
